We’re in and out of the clouds this Thursday atop Tennessee, and fully expect skies to continue to do this sunshine-to-socked-in tango. The conditions feel grand while on trail, but we’re getting into the time of year it does not take long for that chill to set in once resting at our elevation. The deeper we dive into autumn, the greater the risks of hypothermia for those spending time in the woods unprepared for the elements. So remember the layers for warmth and staying dry. Temps are in the 50s during the day and 40s at night and will keep that trend through the weekend. The trail traffic has been mild this week, but with such a favorable future forecast and the excitement of the fall season building, one should plan on the Smokies being quite busy this weekend.
Have a great rest of the day.
