Today’s Photo of the Day is “Rocky Mountain Bull Elk” by Gene Putney. Location: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“During the Rocky Mountain Elk rut on a September afternoon, this bull ventured away from his harem way out in the meadow and went over this hill,” explains Putney. “After a few minutes, he reappeared and stopped briefly to bugle, letting his presence be known, then returning to his harem.”
