We have a beautiful summer weekend in store for the Smokies. Looking at basking in plenty of sunshine today and tomorrow with only a few clouds. Temps will surely tap the lower 70s at our elevation. If there’s a possibility for a pop up afternoon rainshower or two, it’s going to be very minimal. Winds will be light, but offering reprieve from the heat and humidity if one happens to catch a breeze. The coneflower are starting to open up in bunches now around lodge grounds. The speckles of gold really add a nice splash of color around the buildings, and they sure make the bees happy. Recent rains have battered a number of the Rosebay Rhododendron along the trails, but many are still with gorgeous blooms higher up the mountain.
Have a great day.
