What a fabulous first weekend of April we’re having. Today should bring abundant sunshine over the mountains once again. Conditions will feel slightly cooler today on account of the increased winds, in which we could see gusts upwards of 40mph. High temps will creep into the 40s and tonight’s low could dip back down toward freezing.
Looks like a warmup is on tap for the coming week, coinciding with our first real dose of spring rains. Going back these past several weeks since we began making preparations for the 2022 season, yes we’ve had a couple snowfalls and dustings, but there hasn’t been diddly-squat for substantial rainfall. That fact has been amplified by the dry and wind-stoked fire events happening around East TN and western NC this past week. Don’t think anyone around here will complain too much if the region sees a couple days worth of measurable rains to help soak the earth and douse any lingering embers. Plus it will surely make the spring flowers happy as they begin their annual march up the mountain!
Have a great end to the week.
