Well we woke up to chilly temps and white fluffy stuff on the ground. The warm stretch we received sure didn’t last very long up here. Already this morning we’ve dipped down to 20°, but the air is breezy adding an extra chill. Thankfully the sun is working its magic and melting the dusting of snow underfoot. It’s possible we get up into the 30s this afternoon and then back below freezing tonight. The weekend looks decent and slightly warmer. Travelers to the Smokies are still coming to the area for their spring breaks, so count on bustling crowds in and around the park these next couple weeks.
We’re starting to receive the first reports of trail conditions. Sounds like Alum Cave has several trees down throughout the climb. One of which requires hikers to their best limbo impression. Rainbow Falls still has a couple obstacles above the falls. Bull Head…well let’s just avoid that one for the time being. Hopefully our llamas are able to reach the top today via Trillium Gap without any trouble.
Have a great day.
