My, oh my, September is already here! That means summer is officially in its last leg as we head into the holiday weekend. The next several days will be stellar for spending time in the woods. Conditions at our elevation will be a mix of sun and clouds with temps ranging from 50s to 60s and only light winds. Trails will continue to dry out for decent walking tread. With it being a last hurrah of the summer tourist season, visitors to the Smokies should expect heavy traffic congestion en route and on trail. Early starts and plenty of patience will go a long way in making your time in the most visited national park that much more enjoyable and tolerable. Reminder that our reservations office will be closed on Labor Day Monday, so any guests with upcoming reservations before then should contact our office now in case any last minute adjustments are needed. Normal hours will resume after the holiday on Tuesday. We’ll see you at the top!
Have a great day.
