Skies will bring us a mix of sun and clouds today. There’s even a chance we see some rainy weather at times, but nothing of real significance. Once we get past this, we have what appears to be a rather long stretch of clear days ahead. Temps are expected to remain mild through the weekend with highs near 60°, continuing this warm start to October. Then next week welcomes what will certainly feel more like fall in the mountains, as highs barely scrape the 50s and overnight lows find themselves in the 30s. That should certainly play into the conditions necessary for changing leaves at varying elevations. Visitors will need to start throwing in not just an extra layer for the top, but full on jackets for enjoying sunset or an early morning stroll along the crest. We’ve lost a decent amount of daylight hours in recent weeks, but now we begin to bid farewell to those incredibly comfortable nights, asking just a little more of those cabin heaters.
Have a great day.
