The sweet sound of rain rapping and rippling on rooftops. Last night, the rapidly developing cyclone to our southeast finally managed to muster enough strength to cross the mountains. It’s unusual to have strong wind coming from our east, so hopefully no trees unaccustomed to holding firm from forces that direction got caught off guard and dropped on trail. If you come upon any new obstructions, please let us know. We’ll be in and out of the clouds much of today, with scattered rain bands rolling across the region as this system pushes through and peters out. It won’t be very warm today either, as we’ll sit tight in the lower 50s while the lowlands might barely reach 70° this afternoon. That will certainly get everyone thinking about autumn. Once this latest tropical gift clears out in a couple days, temps will warm back up and skies will clear for what should be a gorgeous weekend. In the meantime, expect wet trails and potentially slick surfaces as the much needed rain continues to come down.
Have a great day.
