HELLO, FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!
We have a total of six inches of dry powdery snow and clear cloudless skies at the lodge this morning! The current temperature is 21 degrees. Yesterday’s low was 6 degrees.
The road to Newfound Gap remains closed. There is a high wind advisory in effect for this evening, so we can expect the road to remain closed today. Hopefully it will be reopened tomorrow.
I spent a lot of time yesterday shoveling and sweeping snow off the horizontal surfaces where it had accumulated to a depth of six inches—porches, steps, and picnic tables and benches.
I saw no day hikers yesterday, but we should be ready for them today.
I hope that you have a great day!
HAPPY TRAILS!!
WILDCAT/ Bert
