Views have been limitless in all directions on what has been another stellar mid-autumn day in the mountains. This morning’s stunning sunrise – made possible by clear skies, crisp air, and captivating colors – is sure to be matched by this evening’s sunset. A fine treat for ambitious guests who stayed last night and of course those new folks taking up residence this evening. Now that the trees are completely bare of leaves, their uniform grays, tans, and blues (depending on the visual distance) all portray a certain softness, especially in low light. Even in the absence of lush greenery or a striking white snowfall, there is great beauty to behold in these mountains this time of year.
As expected, temps were a bit cooler up top today, but the uninterrupted sunshine was strong in its ability to keep one feeling warm and comfortable at whatever elevation. Wednesday will start out pleasant as well, but count on clouds increasing in number as the hours pass. Rain showers and gusty winds will return tomorrow night and remain strong through Thursday. Temps will hold firm in the 30s and 40s, but as it stands currently any precip should come down in liquid form only. That’s quite alright by us as we navigate these final two weeks of the season. Once this rain does its thing, this coming weekend looks promising for rambles in the woods.
Have a great day.
