December 7, 2022
Wednesday dawned warm, wet, and foggy. It’s currently 49 degrees at the lodge, which was also yesterday’s high temperature.
I’m sitting here in my “office” enjoying classic blue grass music—fifty years ago I believe that it was referred to as “hillbilly” music.
I began reading a book from the lodge library yesterday—BACKPACKING WAS THE ONLY WAY, by Paul Fink, from Jonesboro, Tennessee. He began backpacking in
East Tennessee about a hundred years ago. Back in those days there were very few trails and roads in the mountains. I can recognize many of the locations that he mentions from my experiences backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. Very interesting! This looks like another good day to continue reading!
Have a great day!
