Sunshine, warm temps, and another beautiful October weekend are all getting served up starting today. This might be one of the most popular times of the year for folks to get married, and it’s most certainly going to be a popular time for travelers to converge upon the most visited national park. Although the changing leaf display doesn’t have much time left before these mountains sport their winter coat, that won’t stop the crowds from coming here to enjoy a scenic drive or a crisp walk in the woods. So expect plenty of congestion along trails and roadways. We’re about to enjoy a sustained and welcomed reprieve from the recent icy temps, getting things started this Saturday in the lower 40s. By this afternoon the sunshine could help us reach the mid 50s. Winds will be light, but still enough to add a brief shiver in the shade. Copy and paste all those conditions for Sunday. Trails should be mostly clear of ice by this afternoon if not gone completely, but still tread carefully on smooth or slanted surfaces that appear wet higher up.
Have a great day.
