Once again the storms decided to spare Mt. LeConte on Saturday, and apart from a few pitter-patters on rooftops during the night, our trend of luck continues into this Sunday. Rain is predicted for this afternoon and evening though, with decent chances on tap for Monday as well. Winds will be light and variable while temps hold firm in the 50s and 60s. Count and wet and muddy trails at times.
Despite our lack of sunshine over the better part of the last two months, the vegetation continues to fill in with color. The buzzing bees remain active bouncing from plant to plant, and even an uptick in fluttering swallowtails has been noticed. The blooming Grass of Parnassus and Gentian are slowly becoming more numerous along the upper reaches of a few trails, but are still a few days away from what could be described as being at peak.
Have a great end to the week.
