We’re going to close out one of the rainiest months in Mt. LeConte history with…you guessed it…more rain. And it appears the wet weather trend will be inherited by August in its initial days. The storm bands will be rolling through in waves today, with the potential of producing heavy rainfall at times. As has been the case numerous times in past weeks, that means localized flooding threats near creeks and drainages. And that applies to trails and roadways both in and outside the Smokies. Winds will be a tad more prevalent today with gusts of 20mph possible. Temps in the 50s will feel a bit cooler in the clouds and mist too. Layer up and come ready for sour skies, but guests with reservations can count on a warm meal to soothe their souls where it’s cozy inside.
Have a great day and stay dry.
