Despite some patches of blue sky earlier this morning, the clouds have dropped on us and thickened up by the hour. The temps are mild and the air is calm, but one gets the sense that we are on the cusp of receiving some rainy action this afternoon and evening. Best to get one’s outdoor rambling knocked out soon before conditions potentially sour later. We’re enjoying the mid 60s currently and dipping into the 50s at night. Stormy chances return for the back half of Friday and every day of the holiday weekend. Pack those rain coats right next to the sunscreen, because odds are you’ll want both.
Every season we receive several inquiries from generous folks asking what treats they can bring to the lodge crew in an upcoming hike. It just so happens that the crew’s candy bin has gotten desperately empty recently, so they’ve requested we put out an APB for some tasty refills! They certainly appreciate everyone’s thoughtfulness as they work hard to provide each of you an enjoyable experience in the backcountry. Without further delay, here’s a rundown of items mentioned by our hungry team…
Fresh Fruits, Reese’s, Snickers, Skittles, Hershey’s, Twix, Sour Patch Kids, Gummies, Dark Chocolate (especially when covering pretzels/berries/wafers), Fresca’s, Twizzlers, Trader Joe’s snacks, Peanut M&M’s, Cheez-It (Hot & Spicy), Takis, Goldfish (flavor blasted)
Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Enuf, Kombucha, Red Bull
Many thanks by all! Have a great rest of the day.
